How is FinishLine Priced?
FinishLine is priced by the size and type of project based on plan view counts
What is a plan view?
How are plan views counted?
Custom Home BuildingLicensing is based on the quantity of plan views that will be needed to inspect one year’s worth of new home construction. The license holder may purchase additional capacity (more plan views) over time as initial plan views are used. Custom homes generally require 1-6 plan views: first floor, second floor, basement, NE exterior elevation and roof, SW exterior elevation and roof, plus landscaping. For larger single family developments, a regular FinishLine license is recommended.
Hospital, Research Center, Lab/Biotech Facility
Some buildings require a room by room inspection. A 450,000 sq. ft. hospital would require 4,000 plan views, while a larger 1.5 million sq. ft. hospital would require 15,000 plan views. The plan view counts cover all rooms and common spaces, exterior elevations, roof, site plans and parking.
Multi-Family, Hotels, Resorts, Campus Housing, Military Barracks
Plan views are calculated for each apartment or keyed hotel unit. We also factor in common spaces such as corridors, lobbies and amenities, exterior elevations, roof, site plans and parking. A 34 story high rise luxury condominium with 300 residential units requires around 500 plan views.
Educational Facilities, Mixed Use Developments, Assisted Living, Shopping CentersPlan views are a combination of room by room, groups of rooms (small office spaces, apartments), larger spaces, in addition to other common spaces, exterior elevations, roof, site plans and parking.
Distribution Facilities, Data Centers, Aircraft Maintenance Facilities
Project setups vary in this category. Depending on the types of inspections performed, architectural floor plans are used to create plan views for both rooms and larger spaces. Sometimes reflected ceiling plans are needed. For equipment inspections, additional interior elevations or even photos of equipment can be used as plan views. We also factor in common spaces such as corridors, lobbies and amenities, exterior elevations, roof, site plans and parking. A 56,000 SF Aircraft Maintenance Facility would require around 160 plan views without RCPs, and around 265 plan views with RCPs included.
Manufacturing, Assembly Line ProductionLicensing is based on the quantity of plan views that will be needed to inspect one year’s worth of new products. The license holder may purchase additional capacity (more plan views) over time as initial plan views are used. A product may require 1 or more plan views, depending on the item and nature of the inspections. Given that each assembly line station has its own unique inspection requirements, manufacturers find great value from FinishLine since the price covers unlimited inspection types.
What are the pricing options?
4 Price Categories
Single Project Pricing is for one specific project.
Bundled Project Pricing applies to 2 or more projects combined in one software agreement. This effectively reduces the cost per project.
Annual Agreements are based on a minimum project commitment over 12 months. The annual agreement provides ultimate flexibility. By committing to a minimum number of projects, the fee structure per project is significantly reduced.
Capacity Licensing Capacity licensing applies to situations such as custom home building and assembly line production. The license is for an initial number of plan views, and when those plan views are consumed, the license holder has the option to add more plan views based on a schedule of fees specified under the software agreement.
